Please join us on Thursday, June 27th to learn all about our upcoming season; for those of you who joined Lauda during the 2023-24 season, you will get to weigh in on the new season’s schedule, dues, and repertoire. We will meet at The Salvation Army, 4700 Manor Rd, Austin, TX 78723 from 7:30 until about 9:00 pm. We will review a bit of last semester, hold elections for the 3 board seats that are becoming vacant soon, and discuss plans for next semester, including the possibility of moving rehearsals to a time that will not require driving at night. We will also read through some potential music for the Fall semester; There will be paper copies of the music at the meeting.
For those of you who are not familiar with Lauda Musicam of Austin, we are a director-led, performing group of amateur early musicians that specializes in Renaissance music (some medieval and Baroque music will also find their way into our repertoire). We are looking forward to our SECOND season, and hope that you will be able to join us. And please spread the word to any musical friends who might love to make music with us! We are looking to recruit more recorder players, viol players, singers, hand percussion, and louds. If your friends play flute, saxophone, clarinet, or other woodwinds, those skills and fingerings translate well to recorder, of which we have many that can be loaned out.
