Join us on Sunday the 29th of March for our Spring concert, “Women Composers Through History“. While there were probably a lot of women composing music during the Renaissance and Baroque periods most of their music has not survived. Luckily for us several women composers did manage to have their music preserved; some by having their music published by family, or they were in a convent and were writing music for services. This season we explore a selection of music ranging from the late Medieval period through the start of the Romantic period which will be played on a variety of replicas of early instruments, from recorders and viols to sackbuts and dulcians, as well as sung by our very own vocal group, Lauda Vox. We hope that you will be able to join us for what is sure to be an afternoon filled with lovely music.
The concert is free, but we encourage donations which help fund our group’s operating costs.
