The 1st session of LMATX’s Fall ’25 semester will take place on Sunday the 24th of August from 2:30p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army Citadel, 4700 Manor Rd, Austin, TX 78723. Please reserve that date on your calendar. The calendar for the full semester is available in the member’s section of our website: LMATX.org.
We will start the session off with a short member’s meeting that will include a vote for 2 board members followed by a reading session of possible music for the Fall ’25 Concert. This semester’s theme will be “The Unknown Composer”, everyone’s favorite composer – Anonymous! I will post the music onto our Box page at least 2 weeks prior to the 1st session and will then send out an email with the link.
Everyone is encouraged to bring a musician friend to the session, even if they are not early musicians. We have lots of instruments that are available for loan and many modern instruments translate well to early instruments.
All instrumental rehearsals this year will also be live streamed on Zoom so that our out-of-town members can participate. Zoom links will be sent out to on-line participants 1 week prior to the sessions.
